New Years Eve - Laying the Foundation

As I look forward to the beginning of my 365 day challenge, already I can see the law of attraction at work. More tools, readings and inspirations are coming my way.

Appropriately and in perfect timing, the Optimist's Creed came to my attention from a fellow blogger on the Gratitude Log.

The Optimist Creed was first published by Christian Larson in 1912 and adopted (in a shortened version) by Optimist International in 1922. I have changed it to the first person.

The Optimist's Creed
I promise myself.....
To be so strong that nothing can disturb my peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person I meet.
To make all my friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature I meet.
To give so much time to improving myself that I have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of myself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud word, but in great deeds.
To live in the faith that the whole world is on my side, so long as I am true to the best that is in me.

My task today is to print this out and hang one copy on the mirror in my bathroom so I am reminded of this creed every morning.  I will also prepare a copy to hang at work when I return on January 4th.
The other tool that came my way today was from Rebecca Fine at The Science of Getting Rich.net. I thought this was such a marvelous idea that I will be doing this with my kids tonight as we celebrate New Years Eve and will post our results tomorrow. The idea is simple, as you celebrate the change of the year to 2010, you name all the things you are grateful for over the past year, but you act as if you are celebrating New Years 2011. This is a great way to practice the teachings of the Wallace D Wattles classic "The Science of Getting Rich". You can get a free digital copy of this book from Rebecca's site above.

In extreme gratitude, I end this post for today and with enthusiasm, I look forward to the beginning of my challenge on the first day of 2010.
